About the translation...

Peter Kwok didn't provide to his students the names of the movements for this form.

I did have one teacher who found this form in book form in Chinese.  He had it translated.  But has not passed it on.

I have a student who obtained and provided to me all four Hua Chuan's in book form, in Chinese.  I found someone to translate this information for me.  Since none of my teachers had a reliable and consistent translation, I am using my translated material to document the form.

About China Fist 1

Kuo Shu, a sport with a distinctive national style, is one of our culture heritages.  It is also called a classic artistic gymnastics combining contest and Chinese dances.  It has been developed for thousands of years.  Many people use Wu Shu to improve their physique, cure sickness, and mold their temperance.  Many old persons in the 70's or 80's are still strong and vigourous, walk, briskly because they keep practicing Wu Shu for a long time.  These examples provide evidence that Wu Shu is valuable.

China Fist is one member of the Long Fist family in Wu Shu.  It has many set lit other fists.  As a saying says, with 48 sets of China Fist, you can go anywhere all over the world.  It involves knife, spear, sword, and rod.  It also has 18 primary and secondary sets and 12 advanced sets without any apparatus.

Although the fame of China Fist is not based on development of the whole body, like what modern gymnastics does, this doesn't mean China Fist has not the capability of developing the whole body.  The facts tell us China Fist, like Cha Chuan, Hua Chuan (Flower Fist), Pao Chuan (Cannon Fist), Hong Chuan, Fan Zi, Liu He, and Shaolin, can highly develop human strength, speed, sensitivity and endurance.

Yi Lu Hua Chuan is the first set of the 12 advanced sets in the Hua Chuan Family.  Its contents are plentiful.  Postures of the upper limbs include 4 basic hand postures (fist, palm, hook and claw) and 12 basic techniques (dash, push, fall, cut, chop, raise, pushup, support, holdup, cross and shake).  Postures of the legs include 5 stances (foward lunge, horse, fall forward, void step, and "J" Step and the 7 basic techniques are forward, backward, stride, steal, tread, attack, and jump.

Moreover, China Fist also involves:  1.  Some balance actions in which only one leg is standing on the ground,  2.  Jump actions such as raise feet twice, whirlwind feet, jump and kick horizontally, and jump and displace lotus, and 3.  rotating actions such as sweep forward, sweep backward, steal and turn around, and raise legs and turn around.  It also involves several body folding actions.

These basic postures give people alot of opportunities to exercise their arms, legs, improve one's strength, speed and senstivity, furthermore, this set of fists lasts long, so it can build up one's endurance.
